WORKSHOPS
Method
The
workshop consists of power point presentation, whole group and small
group discussion, interactive exercises designed to put the learner
in the center of the experience. We use art, music, role playing and
actual practice in discussion leading, using excerpts from literature
to practice and percet the HEROES method. Having completed the Workshop,
participants will immediately be able to use the method in their own
classrooms.
Participants
read and analyze a portion of literature and learn how to extract the
vital content from it by posing specific questions about the hero, his
traits, decisions, successes or failures. Discussion moves from the
story to the larger society and to the participants themselves, clarifying
the issues that pervade our daily lives. The hero's quest and situation
is analogous to every individual's journey through life. With the focus
on basic needs, values and decision making, the student sees that every
individual can make choices that promote positive (or negative) results
for himself and for society.
